SHR pays cash on the "spot" - either by its in-person visits to client's stores and pawn shops or by immediate cash settlements with all shipped scrap. This provides our clients with the utmost convenience. Knowing that on all hard scrap (karat lots) you're getting paid on the karat stamp and not on a fire assay, will not only give you 110% confidence, but it will also put YOU in complete control over your settlement, so there will be no surprises and no disappointments!
We provide a karat scrap calculator for shipped karat gold. Your karat gold is always considered and paid as plumb gold .417, .585, .750, etc. - and we never deduct for after melt weight loss. Approved accounts can simply enter current spot and dwt of each karat to see the estimated settlement. On average, karat scrap yields about 98% of after-melt assay and weight. Or, if you prefer, we are happy to smelt and perform our 24-step fire assay on your entire karat gold lot. The Minimum Treatment fee is $50, with 98% payout of the after-melt weight and assay. For this option, please note on your SHR Packing Slip and allow approximately 5 business days for labs to be completed. We are happy to advance on your karat gold lot as well.
For your raw materials - bench sweeps, buffing dirt, etc., we process and pay on the assay. Karat gold, silver and platinum scrap is processed and paid within 24 hours (occasionally the same day).
- SHR's Refining of Bench Filings is as follows:
Au is 98% Payable, Ag is 95% Payable, The Minimum Treatment Charge is $100. Refining fee for after-melt Au is $5/t.oz, and after-melt Ag is $0.50/t.oz. Bench Filings take approximately 1-2 weeks. We do our best to give your lots the highest priority when we receive them.
- SHR's Refining of Sweeps, Polishings & Buffings is as follows:
Au 95% Payable, Ag 95% Payable, The Minimum Treatment Charge is $200. Refining fee for after-melt Au is $5/t.oz, and after-melt Ag is $0.50/t.oz. Polishing dirt takes approximately 4 weeks.
- SHR's Stone Removal:
SHR's stone removal is paid at 98% of assay (aka Strip Lots/Acid Wash) and takes approximately 2 weeks. 100% of your stones are safely removed, cleaned and returned to you. We will also bid for your diamonds should you wish to sell them. Treatment charge for stone removal is $1.50/ troy oz and $175 minimum.
- Dead Watch Batteries:
Dead Watch Batteries are processed within 24 hours. We separate lithium and non-silver oxide batteries and safely dispose of them for you as well. SHR pays 1.6x silver spot. We also reimburse your flat rate shipping on lots containing 3 pounds or more.
- Gold-filled/Gold Plated Jewelry:
Gold-filled/Gold plated jewelry is paid at 95%. Treatment charge is $0.35/t.oz, $200 Minimum Treatment charge.Refining fee for after-melt Au is $5/t.oz, and after-melt Ag is $0.50/t.oz. Please allow 4-6 weeks for smelting completion and settlement.
